Airswift, an international workforce solutions provider within the energy, process and infrastructure industries, has been tasked with hiring a long-term capital project engineer for our chemical company client located in Lake Charles, LA

The Project Engineer will be primarily responsible for engineering, overseeing, and executing multiple capital & expense projects to meet scope, cost, and schedule requirements at the site.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Demonstrate strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental requirements through personal behavior and direction of others.
  • Provide required engineering services and technical knowledge for the application of new or different processes, equipment, and materials in existing production units to improve production rates, quality, lower production cost, and/or improve equipment reliability.
  • Develop plans for projects and prepare budget estimates for approvals.
  • Coordinate contract engineering services for projects in accordance with good engineering and safety practices, governmental regulations, plant specifications, applicable codes and underwriter requirements.
  • Develop and/or update engineering procedures in order to ensure optimum engineering support for plant facilities.
  • Initiate procurement of materials and communicate with Purchasing, Vendors, and Stores to control expediting and receiving of material.
  • Prepare work scope descriptions and bid specifications for Purchasing to request bids from vendors and contractors.
  • Review and approve construction drawings, vendor equipment, vessels, and machinery related to industrial processes.
  • Review and provide recommendations on engineering and construction bid packages.
  • Coordinate field installation, inspect, and accept work.
  • Prepare project status, construction progress, and cost forecast reports required to keep management informed of progress on assigned projects.
  • Communicate with Maintenance and Production personnel to acquire design feedback experience on previously installed equipment and material.
  • Fully support Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or Electrical) PREFERRED but not required
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a chemical/petrochemical plant or related industry in the engineering field.
  • Active TWIC required.
  • 2+ years of project engineering experience.
  • Experience leading capital projects: budgeting, forecasting, administration of schedule, and cost control.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, ACAD drawings, and equipment literature applicable in a chemical facility.
  • Previous experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Strong in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Additionally, this position must make general decisions requiring judgement and perform activities requiring sustained concentration.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The primary work environment will be in an office, however, some of the work may be required in the operating units which may result in exposure to outside elements, require usage of stairs and elevators, and mandate usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hardhat, goggles, hearing protection, etc.

Role Overview

  • Review design packages for electrical systems and equipment (i.e., Power & Distribution Transformers, motors, generators, high voltage/low voltage switchgear / Motor Control Center (MCC), distribution network, control equipment, power outlets etc.) including drawings, datasheets, detail scope of work, calculations, Bill of Material / Quantity and preliminary cost estimates, Hazardous Area Classification and power System Study

  • Carry out analysis of major equipment selected in the design package
  • Review and respond to technical and site queries

  • Monitor and review in coordination with client’s PMT the performance and work quality of the contractor
  • Ensure that the design work by contractor is in accordance with client’s design standards, applicable codes/regulations, and acceptable work practices
  • Assist the Project Managers and Project Engineers in evaluating Material Requisitions (MR), Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) and Award Recommendation (AR) provided by Contractor and able to perform Procurement support
  • Review and evaluate Change Orders to ensure full compliance with standards and that costs are in line with project budget
  • Work closely with Engineering Teams during the project to ensure facility integrity in terms of HSE
  • Provide technical assurance for electrical discipline deliverables for projects
  • Recommend new improvement solutions for installations or modifications to improve existing facilities and standards
  • Good knowledge on Power system automation

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree within the Electrical Engineering field or a BA in Science with a focus in Electrical Engineering
  • Certified Engineer desirable
  • Experience in design, engineering and construction
  • Middle East project experience is preferable (Gas Plants, Refineries etc.)
  • Engineer must be familiar with NEC, IEEE/ANSI, IEC and other International electrical standards, best practices and value practices
  • Be fully familiar with analogue and Digital Control Systems including Power System Automation (PSA), DCS, PLC and SCADA controls
  • Thorough knowledge of the English language is required to perform the necessary in-depth analysis and studies, make professional presentations and keep up with technical advancements
  • Ideally have experience with Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP) or similar software and all Microsoft office

Proven experience in designing electrical systems.
Familiarity with NFPA 70 and other applicable electrical standards.
Knowledge of other electrical design software, such as Revit MEP or EPLAN.
Experience in preparing electrical specifications, technical documentation and bills of material.
Knowledge of bills of materials (BOM).
Ability to review electrical projects and identify potential problems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Purpose:

Airswift is seeking for Reporting and Planning Engineer to work in Qatar with a major Oil & Gas Company. 
QUALIFICATION
  • BSc Degree in Science or Commercial field or its equivalent
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Troubleshoot various issues reported by the users in C&P and provide support.
  • Facilitates the gathering of requirements, designing, implementing and supporting C&P tools to enhance the business functionality and performance.
  • Active participation in all the business workshops of the implementation of new business processes, system upgrades and new tools implementation.
  • Documentation of existing and To-Be business processes.
  • Identify and document system gaps with business process and procedures in coordinating with C&P users and methods team.
  • Work closely with the IT Team in the prioritization, testing, and deployment of system change requests and/or providing support.
  • Documentation of the required reports for management.
  • Analyze, scope and review C&P users system authorization roles periodically as per the SOD.
  • Gathering and providing required information for the various corporate audits and assist in closing the audit findings.
  • Execute system testing and provide guidance on user acceptance testing.
  • Validate data and prepare reports as and when required for the C&P department.
  • Be eager to continuously increase knowledge and skills through training programs and on-the-job learning.
 
  • Proactively collaborate with teammates to anticipate and respond to issues that could impact solution delivery.
  • Apply strong understanding of business and procurement processes, to deliver high quality projects and support C&P team in the successful adoption of the system.
  • Provide induction, assistance and refreshers sessions on the use of C&P tools in all the entities of organization .
  • Support users and answer to any question related to C&P Tools within organization .
  • Assist C&P in any questions, maintenance actions and tools evolution needs in Procurement, Contracts in respect of general rules and procedures defined by organization and in coherence with other already existing/under implementation ERP tools.
  • Advise and assist organization in defining solutions and developments related to C&P tools (SAP, e-sourcing, contract management, expediting…)
  • Ensure the consistency of changes made on other SAP modules (link to other Business: Operations, Logistics, warehouse, Maintenance, Finance, Controlling, HR…) or external applications with C&P requirements by participating in activities and meetings affecting the functionality of all C&P tools.
  • Monitor and report the progress of work related to C&P tools in organization .
  • Contribute to maintain the internal knowledge of C&P tools for C&P and partner entities within organization by: Consolidating and documenting the experience, and know-how acquired in the performance of the duties.
  • Ensure compliance in the use of C&P tools with all internal company rules (including organization   Code to conduct) and all applicable laws and regulation (JV rules, Country laws...)
  • Be in constant alignment with H3SE Company rules, Procedures, Instructions and applicable legislation.
  • Take the necessary measures to avert immediate threat of danger. Exercising caution as necessary to avoid danger to persons and installations
EXPERIENCE
  • Professional experience: > 4 years post-graduate experience in his/her field and the O&G industry. Minimum 1 year as Graduate Contracts and Procurement Engineer.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (expert in Microsoft Excel)
  • Proficiency in oral and written English is required.

Airswift is seeking for Onshore PTW Coordinator to work in Qatar with a major Oil & Gas Company. 
QUALIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree /HND or equivalent in related field
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for preparation and follow-up of the Integration & hook-up activities to the works related to Ruya Project, including:
  • Ensures proper co-ordination of all works to be carried out.
  • Ensures that conflicting permits are brought to the attention of the Offshore CSR.
  • Notify the SIMOPS Coordinator of any potential SIMOP's issues
  • Is the focal point for all permits issued on the Site by MP.
  • Ensure strong link is ensured between PTW preparation and HSE requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the PTW Originator and submission requirements.
  • Provides a quality check of the permits, supporting documents and certificates prior to issue ensuring all the necessary signatures have been obtained.
  • Perform Audit permit
  • Participates to the PTW coordination daily meetings.
  • Ensure on time submission and closure of PTW’s as per PTW procedure.
  • Train all new personnel to E-COW
  • Ensure coordination within the project completion team and experience transfer from/to other relevant projects
  • provide KPI’s information for the reporting to the Offshore Company Site representative.
  • provide daily & weekly reporting
  • Liaise with Contractors/Subcontractors for all PTW subjects.
  • ensure the Contractors/Subcontractors progress follow up and reporting
  • participate to Lessons Learned for the Company.

  • Establish positive working relationships with immediate supervision and personnel from other departments.
Onshore Preparation 
  • Review all Brownfield fabrication activity performed at onshore to prepare WP/JC.
  • Coordinate and review all job cards and work pack preparation and provide inputs to facilitate PTW on site.
  • Plan and prepare all site work activity to ensure that all offshore works are performed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Review shutdown preparation tracker. 
  • Review all constructability of Brownfield activity to make safe operation and reduce offshore activities.
EXPERIENCE
•At least 10 years’ experience in the offshore oil & gas industry
•Extensive knowledge of industry best practice in Project Management
•Experience in offshore construction and hook-up activities under SIMOPS and Brownfield conditions is mandatory, EPC supervision on client side is  preferable.
•Available for technical missions worldwide,
•Previous experience in Permit to work coordination / Control of work is a must

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT

You will start your journey on the BP KRF project as the ICSS Package Engineer to liaise and manage the completion of the Honeywell hardware and software packages. Experience with Honeywell EPKS is essential. 

 

Requirements:

  • Control Systems Expertise: Proven delivery of significant control system design and execution projects.

About our client and project
Our client is a successful business providing engineering, construction and commissioning services to the mineral processing industry. They offer services across the project lifecycle from feasibility studies; through engineering and design; to self-performed fabrication, construction and commissioning. 

The role 

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join their team. This role is a 12-month contract with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position. The ideal candidate will have extensive site experience and a solid background in structural processing equipment.

The below bullet points are your duties but not limited to; 
  • Design and analyze structural components and systems related to processing equipment.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Provide site support and oversight during the installation and maintenance of structural systems.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation and calculations.

Airswift are currently partnering with a large global EPC company who are currently in need of an experienced and motivated Principal Instrumentation Engineer to be based in Manchester, UK. The Engineer will join their project delivery team in Manchester on a 12-month contract basis. This role will require a strong focus on leadership responsibilities, including budget oversight, planning, cost control, and team management.
Responsibilities
  • Work activities will include project work on a well-established Master Service Agreement.
  • Work activities will be executed across all phases of projects including Conceptual Studies; Basic; FEED and Detailed Design.
  • Projects and proposals are for process plants and facilities across the Chemical; Petrochemical; Power and Energy Transition / New Energy sectors.
  • Project work will include the development of Control & Instrument Engineering deliverables as required on a project-by-project basis.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience in Instrument Engineering Design on Medium / Large capital projects from concept to start-up.
  • Extensive experience in Chemical, Petrochemical and Oil & Gas industries.
  • Competent in working within the C&I Discipline of a contracting organisation.
  • Competent to interface with other Disciplines.
  • Very good proactive communicator. The role involves liaison with Client Engineers & Project Management.
  • Degree qualified for the related discipline.
  • Have or work towards Chartered Engineer status as a Member of the Institute of Measurement and Control (IMC) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
  • Proven ability for equipment specification and the selection and in ensuring compliance from the suppliers, preferably within an EPC contracting organization.
  • Competent in project execution using selected design tools and techniques. 
  • Competent in budget & Schedule control/monitoring and reporting.
  • Competent in design safety, and constructability.
  • To be able to work to Company standards.
  • Innovative when appropriate.
  • Competent in Electrical protection methodologies.
